Allison Gough

Allison (Allie) Gough is a birth doula based in Plainfield, Illinois and supports families in the Chicagoland suburbs. She brings to her work compassionate, intuitive care and is dedicated to helping her families feel empowered, confident, and understood throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. 

Allie is a Certified Doula and has been practicing since 2022. She has experience teaching childbirth classes geared towards unmedicated hospital birth, and is committed to continuously learning and integrating evidenced-base practices. In addition to her doula training, Allie has a B.S. in Mathematics and believes her educational background and problem-solving skills add to her ability to stay calm and adapt to changing conditions in labor, and think quickly on her feet. With a minor degree in Spanish, Allie is also able to communicate in Spanish with working fluency.  

After becoming a mom at a young age and being inspired by her own birth, Allie felt a deep calling to doula work that she could not ignore. She feels strongly that compassionate, individualized, continuous support greatly increases the likelihood of a positive birth experience, which she believes everyone is entitled to. Allie brings a steady, attentive presence with her, and has an inherent ability to make people feel valued and understood. She is committed to providing support in whatever way is needed—from contorting herself in uncomfortable positions to provide counter-pressure, to holding hands while stitching takes place after a tear. 

Allie spends her free time keeping up with two young kids, relaxing with her husband, cozying up with a book, baking gluten-free treats, and listening to birth-related podcasts.

I believe that every parent deserves to have an empowering birth experience. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and informed throughout this significant time.
