Andrea Zuniga

Andrea is a Full-Spectrum Doula supporting families in the Chicago area, devoted to accompanying life’s many rites of passage. Her work is grounded in a deep respect for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as profound and transformative experiences.

Originally from Costa Rica, Andrea brings a strong sense of cultural awareness into her care. She honors the traditions, values, and stories that shape each family’s journey, recognizing how important it is to feel supported in ways that are culturally meaningful and aligned.

Her path into this work began through prenatal and postnatal yoga, where she witnessed the power of movement and mindfulness in helping people connect with their bodies during pregnancy. Outside of her work as a doula, she continues to teach prenatal and postnatal yoga, as well as yoga for children in schools around Chicago.

Her approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and rooted in holistic and somatic practices. She holds space with intention and care, honoring the emotional, physical, and spiritual layers of each experience. Through her work, she supports families in weaving their cultural traditions into their birth journey, while nurturing connection, regulation, and embodied presence.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief: everyone deserves compassionate, respectful support through life’s transitions.

At the end of the day, my intention is to support families in taking the time to understand how our bodies are designed for this experience. When we slow down and connect, there is more trust, more presence, and a deeper relationship with what is unfolding.

The body holds deep wisdom. It knows how to open, how to respond, how to guide in its own way and timing.

And when a person feels safe, supported, and truly seen… birth can find its way.
