Anniecia Marlena is a postpartum doula and holistic birth worker supporting families in Houston, Texas. She is known for her grounded presence, intuitive care, and respect for the postpartum period as an important time of healing and adjustment. Anniecia takes a whole-person approach to care, supporting physical recovery alongside the emotional and mental well-being of new mothers as they transition into life with a newborn.
Anniecia’s work is Christ-centered and rooted in the belief that women are designed to birth, nurture, and heal with support. Her calling to postpartum care began at a young age after witnessing the birth of her nephew at age 12, an experience that left a lasting impression. Years later, her own postpartum experience deepened her understanding of how essential consistent, intentional support is during this season. Through both personal and professional experience, Anniecia has come to believe that postpartum care extends well beyond physical recovery and plays a vital role in the overall health of the family.
Anniecia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and is certified through Doula Philosophy. She has also received mentorship under Mama Ife, a pioneer of holistic Black doulaism. She is committed to ongoing education as she has recently completed recertification through the Professional Doula Institute, with plans to pursue formal midwifery training through the Association of Texas Midwives. Families often describe Anniecia as calm, attentive, and reassuring. Her approach to care is practical, supportive, and deeply respectful, and she considers it a privilege to support women during one of the most vulnerable and meaningful transitions of their lives.
I’m here to remind you that you were never meant to walk through postpartum alone. This work is personal to me because I believe God designed community, rest, and support to be part of the postpartum experience. I hope that when we work together, you feel held, honored, and confident as you step into this new season of motherhood.
