Brandy Kent is a full spectrum doula, with an emphasis on perinatal and birth support. She is also a photographer, and has a passion for showcasing people and families.
Brandy recently received her Doula certification through BA NIA, a Reproductive Justice Organization based in Chicago, IL, but she started her journey decades ago providing birth and postpartum support to family and friends. She also holds a Bachelor’s in Photography & a Minor in Black World Studies from Columbia College Chicago.
After supporting the birth of one of her nieces as a teen, Brandy fell in love with the possibility of helping families bring life into the world. After the birth of her own child a few years ago, she decided to change career paths and embarked on her journey to become a Doula.
Brandy is sweet and compassionate, and she likes to calm nerves using light hearted humor. She is dedicated to providing support to families, providing encouragement during high stress moments.
In her free time, Brandy enjoys visiting museums and absorbing art. She loves spending time with her young child and family. She has a passion for traveling, and has been to 5 of 7 continents.
My favorite part of this work is seeing the look of love, joy and relief after their new life is brought into the world! It is a precious moment and I feel so grateful to be apart of helping support the journey for the families.
