Briana McNeal is a Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW) and trained birth worker providing services throughout the birth experience (prenatal, labor, and early postpartum). Ms. McNeal is a dedicated child of God and Christian woman. She graduated with her BSW and MSW from Wayne State University. Ms. McNeal began her career providing services to Wayne County Community members and has spent the last 5 plus years providing services to community members in both Oakland and Macomb Counties. She has worked with many diverse populations providing services and support. Past experiences include providing services to children to seniors through support coordination, case management wraparound care, home-based therapy, and outpatient therapy. Ms. McNeal provides mental health services and birth worker support that is trauma informed, person-centered, inclusive, and overall empowering for birthing persons and families. Emotional, physical, and informational support is provided to individuals and families that tailors to their unique experiences and choices. Services and interventions are evidence-based and provided in a safe and affirming space.
Ms. McNeal can be described as a natural born fierce leader and advocate. Members have reported loving the authenticity and character of Ms. McNeal who lives by and uphold values that are pivotal to navigate through the challenges of life and unplanned stressors. She is not afraid of healthy conflict and tough conversations that are necessary to provide impact and promote positive change in communities that desperately need it. Ms. McNeal is passionate about her work and members served. She will continue to provide impact services and support with hopes of setting the example and mirroring what success can be and look like for members who may not often see it. Ms McNeal provides care, support, and guidance through the pregnancy journey and through any identified obstacles that will support birthing people and family's autonomy. By increasing knowledge, Ms. McNeal helps families served feel confident in making their own informed decisions, overall aiming to provide the best care and good quality services.
Welcome and thank you for considering me and allowing me to be a part of this transformative and intimate pregnancy journey. My role as your doula/birth worker will be to support you as you navigate this journey with compassion, empathy, respect and presence. I am here to listen, assist you with advocating your choices, and to hold space during whatever this experience brings you whether that is joy, intensity, strength etc. During this vulnerable space/time, my goal is to assist you, help you feel comfort, informed, empowered and never alone throughout each moment.
