Camaria Wafer is a community-based Certified full-spectrum Doula, Certified Midwifery Assistant, reproductive justice advocate, and entrepreneur dedicated to transforming maternal health outcomes for underserved communities. As the founder and CEO of both Shai Doula Services and Doula Technology Solutions, she blends compassionate care with innovation to support birthing people through every stage of their reproductive journey. Camaria offers inclusive, trauma-informed support across the reproductive spectrum, including fertility guidance, childbirth education, labor and postpartum care, abortion and loss support, and placenta encapsulation. Her practice is rooted in bodily autonomy, cultural competence, and community healing, with a focus on marginalized populations in the United States.
With over five years of experience, Camaria holds certifications from the Birth Workers of Color Collective and is affiliated with other reproductive organizations around the country. She earned her degree in Political Science and Global Studies from Wayne State University, equipping her with a strong foundation in policy and advocacy. As a survivor of sexual abuse and domestic violence, Camaria brings a deeply personal and justice-centered lens to her work. Her mission is to ensure that all birthing people—especially young people of color—receive the care, respect, and resources they deserve.
