Charlene is a postpartum doula and maternal support professional based in the United States, dedicated to providing compassionate, whole-person care during the tender weeks following birth. With over nine years of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in postpartum care, Charlene brings a calm, reassuring presence and a deep respect for the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of new parents. She is especially passionate about ensuring that every mother feels seen, heard, and supported during one of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life.
Charlene became a certified postpartum doula through the International Doula Institute in May 2025 and has completed extensive lactation counselor training, totaling over 95 hours. Her background allows her to blend clinical knowledge with nurturing, nonjudgmental care. She gently supports families with newborn care, postpartum recovery, emotional well-being, and lactation education, while also helping parents feel confident and empowered in their own instincts. Drawing from both professional training and lived experience, Charlene is skilled at identifying concerns related to postpartum healing or emotional health and communicating them with compassion and clarity.
What truly sets Charlene’s practice apart is her personal “why.” As a single mother who has navigated firsthand the disparities and gaps within maternal healthcare—particularly for women of color—she is deeply motivated to advocate for equitable, respectful, and affirming care. Families often describe Charlene as grounding, intuitive, and deeply present. Outside of doula work, she is committed to community outreach and education, with a long-term vision of empowering other mothers and strengthening support networks. Charlene approaches every family with humility, warmth, and the belief that no parent should feel alone during their postpartum journey.
I believe every parent deserves to feel supported, rested, and reassured that what they’re doing is enough. This work is deeply personal to me because I understand how vulnerable the postpartum season can feel, especially when support is limited, and I’m here to remind you that you are not alone. My hope is that every family I support feels seen, cared for, and more confident as they settle into this new chapter.
