Charlotte Minter-Jackson, a Birth & postpartum doula in Bolingbrook, Illinois

Charlotte Minter Jackson

Bio

Charlotte "Char" Jackson is a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula serving families throughout the Chicagoland area. Formally trained and certified through DNT Network, her passion for birth work was born from her own challenging birth and postpartum experiences, which inspired her commitment to ensuring that every family feels heard, supported, and empowered throughout their parenting journey. Before becoming a doula, Char spent many years supporting individuals and families through some of life's most meaningful milestones, developing the calm presence, attention to detail, and personalized approach that now defines her work with growing families. Char also spent many years serving families through mentoring, counseling, and community support, experiences that strengthened her ability to provide compassionate care during life's most significant transitions.

Char's approach combines evidence-based education with compassionate, individualized support. She believes every family deserves care that honors their unique goals, values, and circumstances. Whether supporting a birthing person through labor or helping new parents adjust to life with a newborn, she strives to create an environment where families feel safe, confident, and cared for. Clients appreciate her steady presence, thoughtful communication, and ability to recognize when encouragement, practical support, or simply a listening ear is needed most.

As both a Birth and Postpartum Doula, Char is particularly passionate about emotional wellness during pregnancy and the fourth trimester. She has a natural ability to help families feel grounded during overwhelming moments and is committed to reducing stress while building confidence in new parents. Her goal is not only to provide information and hands-on support, but also to help families find their own rhythm as they navigate the joys and challenges of welcoming a new baby. Char is dedicated to ongoing education in birth, postpartum recovery, infant feeding, and maternal wellness, ensuring that the families she serves receive evidence-based support informed by current research and best practices.

When she is not supporting clients, Char enjoys taking walks with her husband, Chris, spending time with her family through vacations, Sunday dinners, and movie nights, and creating opportunities to educate, encourage, and support others.

Message to new parents

This work is personal to me because I understand how deeply birth and the postpartum experience can shape a family's journey. My hope is that every family I support feels seen, heard, encouraged, educated, and empowered, not only while we are together, but long after our time has ended.
