Bio

Deb Pocica is a postpartum doula and infant sleep consultant in the Chicago area who is known for her calm presence, practical solutions, and ability to make even the hardest nights feel more manageable. She specializes in newborn care, early sleep foundations, and supporting families through the emotional and logistical realities of the postpartum period.

Deb’s path into birth and postpartum work began nearly two decades ago, when she realized how much she loved supporting families through those “fourth trimester” weeks when everything feels new and watching the new family become accomplished and successful. Since completing her sleep consulting training with the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management, she has helped families navigate gentle, developmentally appropriate sleep strategies that prioritize connection and realistic expectations. Her dual background allows her to support families holistically—addressing rest, recovery, bonding, feeding, and the day-to-day rhythm that helps everyone feel more grounded.

Clients appreciate Deb’s honesty, patience, and warm, steady demeanor. She shows up as the reassuring adult in the room during a time that can feel overwhelming, offering evidence-based guidance and a nonjudgmental listening ear. When she’s off the clock, Deb enjoys exploring local antique stores, planning cozy staycations, and creating resources for new doulas and parents through her mentorship and education work.

Message to new parents

I see my work as a way to help families find steadiness—whether that’s through sleep support, newborn care, or simply being the calm presence you need at 2 a.m. My favorite part of this work is watching families breathe a little easier and trust themselves a little more. You deserve support that meets you exactly where you are.
