Devyn Coar is a full-spectrum birth worker based in Chicago, Illinois. She has been supporting families since July 2024 and was trained through a lens of birth justice, focusing on creating equitable and empowering birthing experiences for all families. Her approach is rooted in education, emotional care, and deep respect for the wide range of contexts people bring into pregnancy and parenthood.
Families often describe Devyn as intuitive and grounding. The families she has served appreciate her ability to notice and gently respond to needs before they’re spoken, and her dedication to providing truly non-judgmental care. Devyn brings the quiet power of observation to her work, always watching, listening, and learning how to best support each person in the way that feels most aligned for them. She also loves helping partners feel confident and included, creating space for everyone who wants to take part in the birth experience.
Outside of her doula work, Devyn finds joy in cooking and baking for the people she loves and in moving her body through dance and yoga. She views every family she supports as a teacher and believes that together, they co-create a story of birth that can be told with pride, joy, and self-trust.
I’m here to remind you that your body is powerful and capable, and that you deserve care that honors that truth. My goal is to help you feel informed, prepared, and confident, no matter what your birth looks like. I want you to walk away from this experience believing deeply in yourself and your ability to do this.
