Emily Mikes

Emily Mikes is a birth and postpartum doula serving families throughout Chicago, Illinois. She joined Partum Health in 2025, bringing over fifteen years of hands-on childcare experience, including teaching infant swim lessons and caring for multiples, such as triplets. Emily offers calm, evidence-based support designed to help families feel confident, informed, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Emily supports families planning hospital and birthing center births. She especially enjoys working with first-time parents who value clear information, steady reassurance, and a supportive presence. During pregnancy and birth, Emily provides emotional support, birth education, comfort measures, and continuous labor support, while helping families navigate the birth environment and honor their preferences and decisions.

In the postpartum period, Emily offers hands-on newborn care and family support, helping parents maximize rest, recovery, and confidence as they adjust to life with a new baby. She is certified in First Aid and CPR and is experienced in newborn care, lactation support, bottle feeding, and establishing healthy sleep foundations. Emily stays current on guidance from leading medical and public health organizations to ensure her care reflects up-to-date safety and best practices.

Emily’s approach is gentle, affirming, and tailored to each family’s unique needs. She believes deeply in the power of calm, compassionate presence during times of transition. Outside of doula work, Emily enjoys creating art, arranging flowers, and spending time with her two dogs.

Becoming a parent can feel both exciting and overwhelming, especially if this is your first time. You don’t need to have everything figured out to be doing a great job. My goal is to offer steady support, clear information, and a calm presence so you feel confident making decisions that are right for your family. I’m honored to support parents as they learn about their baby, find their rhythm, and navigate this transition with reassurance and care.
