Erin is passionate about supporting and empowering new families. With a special interest in maternal and infant mental health, she is currently expanding her knowledge and skills set to include breath work as a tool for healing and regulation in postpartum as well as nutritional support during the perinatal period.
As licensed clinical therapist, she brings with her many years of experience as a Family Support Specialist and program supervisor at a local non-profit. She has also worked alongside other professionals that care for families in a collaborative approach through her work in various settings.
Working as a postpartum doula and directly supporting new families allows Erin to meet both the emotional and practical needs of new parents in their homes. Whether it’s washing bottles or providing a listening ear and grounding presence, she is honored to be a part of your transformational season.
Erin obtained her Master’s Degree from Loyola University in Social Work and her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Resources from Illinois State University in Bloomington/ Normal. She has expertise in assessing maternal wellbeing as well as that of the newborn and developing infant and child.
When she’s not working as a doula you can find her going on adventures with her family. Erin also has a passion for providing opportunities for social emotional growth and loves to read. She has combined these two things to create her own mobile children’s bookshop in Chicago. In the warmer weather months, you can find her popping up at local businesses and schools with her bookmobile!
Erin received doula care and other professional services when her own 3 children were born, and like many parents, faced unexpected challenges. She had to navigate the doubts and fears that we all encounter. The resources she found as a new parent not only brought her to a greater place of trust and confidence, but it also inspired her to grow in this profession. Through lived experience and professional training, Erin is familiar with postpartum complications and perinatal mood disorders, fussy or high needs infants, developmental differences and more. Her vast experience, gentle demeanor, as well as her heartfelt commitment to support families during the beautiful and sometimes challenging season makes her a wonderful addition to your postpartum care team!
My hope for you is that you feel cared for, empowered, validated and supported in all areas as you enter this new season of life and growth.
