Heather Bethune is a certified birth & postpartum doula based on the Northside of the city in Edgewater, Chicago. Growing up as the oldest of nine children, she has always loved caring for infants and babies, continually fascinated by the intelligence of little humans and the symbiotic relationship between them and their caregivers.
Heather’s non-judgemental style of caregiving blends her wealth of intuitive wisdom and calm confidence with logistical and administrative experience. Finding the right balance of support for each unique family is her number one goal.
Outside of her doula work, Heather enjoys a vibrant life with her partner and children in the city. She loves long walks, riding her bike, and spending time at city parks with family and friends. Heather’s dedication to her family and community is the foundation of her own balanced caregiving, making her a trusted and beloved support for the families she serves.
Hi there, I'm happy to hear you're looking for doula support, you're already out ahead of most parents! We know from human history that babies were typically raised by 5-6 adults, so adding doula support is transformative way to break out of modern family models that overload new parents. One of my favorite parts of doula work is infant care education, as well as emotional support. I love to encourage new parents in all the ways they are excelling, but may not know it yet, due to the steep learning curve required when you bring your little one home!
