Jackie (she/her/ella) is a trained postpartum doula based in Chicago, IL. She has worked in the NICU environment as a music therapist for many years, leading to her developing a passion for equity in healthcare, especially in supporting families with navigating life after birth. As a postpartum doula and licensed/board-certified NICU music therapist, she brings knowledge of the healthcare system while also being informed by a holistic, strengths-based, family-led approach. Her experiences range from supporting infant-caregiver bonding, soothing techniques, infant development, and providing emotional support to caregivers.
Jackie completed her music therapy degree and psychology minor at the University of Miami and completed two additional post-grad NICU music therapy certification programs. She has received doula training from Childbirth International, specializing in postpartum doula work informed by social-justice-driven practices. She brings a calm and grounded presence to those that she supports in either role.
The center of her work is providing empowerment to others. She continually honors the family's identity and values, trusting them as the experts in their supportive care goals. Jackie draws from a strengths-based and resource-oriented approach, building upon the preexisting infant-caregiver connection so families can feel seen, prepared, and confident. When she is not working, Jackie can be found playing instruments, making artwork, and exploring the city.
My hope is that you feel seen, heard, and valued for your strengths and personal experiences. I aim to bring a calming and supportive presence to your postpartum journey.
