Jessi is a Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with over a decade of experience in nursing. Using both her professional and personal perinatal experiences, she provides empathetic, individualized, and science-based support to families.
Jessi earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Bradley University in 2014. Since becoming a nurse, she has worked in the emergency department, various specialty areas within pediatrics, psychiatry and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) until starting her studies to become a lactation consultant. She currently resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, three wild little boys, and two fur babies.
While working in the NICU, Jessi fell in love with educating and supporting families along their feeding journeys. It was at this same time that she welcomed her first child and was met with the hard reality of first-time breastfeeding. Driven by her desire to properly support and empower lactating parents and families to reach their feeding goals, she became a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist in 2020 and became an IBCLC in 2021.
Currently, she works as a lactation consultant at a busy local hospital providing inpatient and outpatient lactation support and teaches breastfeeding classes. Drawing from her critical-care background, Jessi enjoys working with medically complex infants and NICU graduates. Alongside infant feeding, Jessi holds a deeply-rooted passion for maternal mental health and received certification as Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) certified in 2023.
Her approach is client-focused and evidence-based, supporting families as a cheerleader, educator, and resource. She whole-heartedly believes that every family’s breastfeeding goals and circumstances are unique to them and knows what a true privilege it is to walk this journey with you.
This work is deeply personal to me because I know what it is like to encounter unexpected challenges postpartum. I'm here to come alongside you during this time to educate and cheer you on as we work toward your personal feeding goals together. You are more capable than you know. Let's do this!
