Jhana Davis is a Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula based in Houston, Texas, and the founder of Amethyst Birthing. With nearly five years of experience in healthcare and patient-centered services, Jhana brings a unique combination of clinical experience, compassionate support, education, and advocacy to every family she serves. Her background includes working in hospital settings, supporting patients across a variety of specialties, and navigating healthcare systems alongside families. As a doula, she is passionate about helping parents feel informed, heard, respected, and confident throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum transition.
Jhana’s approach to care is rooted in education, individualized support, and honoring each family’s unique birth experience. She believes families deserve to understand their options and feel empowered to make decisions that align with their values and goals. During labor, Jhana provides continuous emotional and physical support, comfort measures, positioning and movement guidance, encouragement, and advocacy while working collaboratively with the birthing person, their partner, and care team. Her postpartum care extends beyond the immediate recovery period, offering reassurance, practical support, and a nurturing presence as families adjust to life with their new baby.
What makes Jhana’s practice unique is the intentional blend of her healthcare experience with the heart-centered nature of doula care. She understands that birth is not simply a medical event it is a deeply personal experience that can shape how a parent remembers one of the most transformative moments of their life. Through Amethyst Birthing, Jhana strives to create a safe, judgment-free space where families can ask questions, express their wishes, and feel genuinely supported. Her goal is not to direct a family’s birth, but to stand beside them, provide the knowledge and support they need, and help them feel confident in their own voice throughout the journey.
I believe every parent deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and genuinely supported throughout their journey into parenthood. My favorite part of this work is being able to meet families where they are, remind them of their strength, and create a space where they can feel safe enough to ask questions, advocate for themselves, and trust their own instincts. At the end of the day, my goal is for every family I support to look back on this chapter and remember not only how their baby arrived, but how deeply cared for they felt along the way.
