She is well known for being prompt and reliable, which gives families peace of mind knowing they can count on her. Before becoming a doula, Julie built a strong foundation in early childhood education, through her work as a nanny, preschool teacher, lead infant teacher and special education paraprofessional. In these roles she gained valuable hands-on experience in the classroom and the home working with children from infants all the way up through high school. Julie has her degree in early childhood education, child development, and behavioral science. Julie is a life-long learner and has her first-aid/cpr certification, and taken many classes through Birth and Baby University such as, newborn care and breastfeeding basics. This love of learning is what brought Julie into the doula field, as she was exploring certification opportunities and quickly realized that her expertise and skillset were a perfect fit to transition into being a postpartum doula.
When Julie isn’t supporting families, she loves spending quality time with her three grown children. Whether it’s enjoying everyday moments at home, or creating new memories, she treasures the bond and connection they share. Family time is what grounds and inspires her, and it allows her to bring even more love, patience, and understanding into the care she provides for the families she supports.
I believe that a parent is a child’s first teacher! I fully believe that in supporting parents during the postpartum period I’ve learned that they intuitively know to care for their newborn. I love being part of the process in seeing parents gain confidence in their own abilities and really fly!
