Kara Plante

Kara is a a labor and postpartum & infant care doula in the Chicago area, having provided care since 2010. The families she has served have loved her care, often saying her calm presence and relaxed style makes birth and parenting seem not so overwhelming. While Kara is incredibly skilled with processes and organizational logistics, she appreciates how the skills she honed in corporate America are put to a more meaningful use now working with families. As a certified Full Spectrum Doula, Kara is able to provide care at any level a family may need even as it changes throughout a contract. 

Kara is committed to making large transitions seem less daunting, for parents, older siblings, and babies - all in her own special way. It seems however her superpower is with babies. They are a big fan of falling asleep on her! 

My hope for you is that the time we spend together (and apart if you are getting sleep!) is restorative and affirming and encouraging to the entire family, no matter what it looks like.
