Katy recently completed her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in infant and early childhood mental health from the Erikson Institute (Chicago). She previously earned a master’s in child development from Erikson & completed training with Postpartum Support International working towards certification in perinatal mental health.
Katy has a decade of experience working with providers, parents, and families of children aged 0-5 across a variety of settings including childcare center classrooms and administration, Illinois’ Early Intervention system, support groups for pregnant or parenting teens, and perinatal therapy practice as a clinical intern here at Partum. Her interests include working with those at any life stage who find themselves struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic illness, relational stress, or transition to parenthood. She uses an individualized, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach that honors and validates each client’s personal experiences, beliefs, boundaries, and readiness. She incorporates a combination of modalities in her sessions, including CBT and mindfulness, that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
My goal for all clients is that you feel seen, heard, and valued as we work together towards growth and healing.
