Laray Lavigne

LaRay Lavigne is a certified postpartum doula serving families in Chicago, Illinois, and surrounding communities. She is passionate about supporting families during one of the most transformative seasons of their lives by providing compassionate, nurturing, and personalized care. LaRay believes that every parent deserves to feel supported, informed, and surrounded by a village as they navigate the joys and challenges of welcoming a new baby.

Before becoming a certified postpartum doula, LaRay built her foundation in maternal and newborn care through her work in Labor & Delivery as an OB Tech. During her time in the hospital setting, she gained extensive experience supporting mothers and newborns throughout the birth process. Her role allowed her to assist with vaginal deliveries, provide postpartum recovery support, and work alongside physicians and nurses in the operating room as a surgical technologist, including assisting during cesarean births. Through these experiences, LaRay developed a deep appreciation for the strength of mothers, the importance of compassionate care, and the need for continued support beyond the delivery room.

LaRay’s passion for postpartum care comes from both her professional experience and her personal journey into motherhood. After experiencing her own postpartum challenges, she understands how important it is for mothers to have support, reassurance, and someone reminding them that they do not have to carry the transition into motherhood alone. Her experience showed her the importance of having a village and inspired her to become that source of comfort and encouragement for other families.

Families who work with LaRay can expect a calm, compassionate, and dependable presence. She believes postpartum care is about more than caring for a baby it is about caring for the entire family. Through emotional support, newborn care guidance, and a nonjudgmental approach, LaRay strives to help parents feel confident, empowered, and cared for during this precious chapter.

Outside of doula work, LaRay enjoys hairstyling, spending time with her son, and creating meaningful connections with others. She is dedicated to serving families with the same compassion and support she believes every parent deserves.

I believe every parent deserves to have a village during their postpartum journey. My own experience as a mother and my years caring for mothers and newborns have shown me how important it is for families to feel supported, heard, and reassured during this transition. My goal is to provide a safe and comforting space where parents feel cared for, empowered, and reminded that they are never alone.
