Latoyia Mcbride

Latoyia is a Birth and Postpartum Doula serving families in Chicago, Illinois. She provides compassionate support to help them navigate both the birth and postpartum journey with confidence and care. Dedicated to ensuring families receive the education and support they deserve, Latoyia’s mission is to foster happy, healthy pregnancies and smooth transitions into parenthood.

With more than 15 years of experience working with families, including many years supporting children with special needs and their parents, Latoyia brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to her work. She became a doula in 2023, recently earning her DONA certification, and is currently pursuing a degree in Family Studies.

Walking alongside mothers through one of life’s most meaningful journeys—pregnancy and parenthood—brings her immense joy. She has always loved working with children and families, finding great fulfillment in watching them achieve their goals. Families consistently value her calm, steady presence during labor and delivery. Her gentle spirit and positive outlook help create a sense of peace in what can sometimes feel like a chaotic moment.

Outside of her work, Latoyia cherishes time with her three adult children and enjoys exploring new cafés around the city. She’s always on the lookout for a good cup of coffee paired with meaningful conversation.

When I think about the families I support, I hope they feel supported and educated. I hope they feel like I help them have the best birth experience they could have.
