Bio

Madison Rodriguez is a Certified Postpartum Doula (BBU) and a recent graduate of DePauw University, where she earned a double major in Global Health and English Writing and a minor in Italian Cultural Studies. Born and raised in Chicago as the oldest of four siblings, Madison has over seven years of experience caring for children ranging from just a few weeks to ten years old, giving her a deep appreciation for the joys and challenges of early family life.

While at DePauw, Madison focused much of her Global Health coursework on child and maternal health. In her junior year, Madison studied abroad in Rome, where she worked with a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding diversity in the workplace. While in Italy, she had the opportunity to research maternal leave policies, which motivated her to continue this research upon returning to Indiana. For her senior capstone, Madison analyzed maternal leave policies in the United States, which led her to explore the role of doulas and their positive impact on the birth experience and the crucial fourth trimester. These experiences combined inspired Madison to pursue a path focused on enhancing postpartum care for families.

As a postpartum doula, Madison strives to meet families exactly where they are, providing physical, emotional, and culturally competent support as families navigate this transformative time. Her goal is to help make the postpartum transition/stage as positive as possible, which includes connecting families with trusted community resources and offering a calm, steady, and supportive presence in the home.
