Maggie Severe, LMSW, RN, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Nurse based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. With over 25 years of experience in women’s health care, Maggie has worked in hospital, outpatient, and community health settings. She is passionate about supporting women and families across the lifespan and has experience working with adolescents, adults, and older adults.
Maggie specializes in perinatal mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment to medical illness, grief, and loss. She is committed to providing a respectful, safe, and supportive environment where clients can explore their goals and move toward personal growth.
Her approach is woman-focused and individualized, helping clients navigate the joys and challenges of life’s transitions. Maggie offers guidance and support as clients identify their strengths, develop resilience, and cultivate the capacity for change. She promotes personal growth and empowerment in areas such as reproductive choices, pregnancy, childbirth, parenting, relationships, and work-life balance.
Maggie earned her MSW from Howard University and her BSN from Michigan State University. She is Certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International. Her clinical work is grounded in a client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed perspective. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT).
As a mother of two young adults, Maggie brings warmth and authenticity to her practice, drawing on her own life experience to support and connect with other moms throughout their unique journeys.
