Marissa Martin is a Birth and Postpartum Doula based in Rockford, Illinois. With over three years of experience, she has supported families across all three hospitals in the Rockford area, providing compassionate and individualized care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
Marissa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from William Penn University and spent much of her early career working in case management. After experiencing the births of her own children, she discovered a deep passion for birth work and supporting families during one of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of their lives.
She is DONA International–certified as both a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula and is also a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), offering knowledgeable breastfeeding support to the families she serves. Marissa specializes in perinatal mental health, medically complex pregnancies, and supporting non-traditional families with inclusive, judgment-free care.
Marissa’s approach centers on education, emotional support, and advocacy, helping parents feel confident, informed, and empowered in their birth and postpartum experiences. She believes every family deserves personalized care, a safe space to be heard, and support that honors their unique needs and values.
When she is not working with families, Marissa enjoys spending time with her loved ones, creating crafts, and connecting with nature.
I believe every parent deserves the Birthing experience and support they wish to have.
