Megan Leyden is an EMBRACE-trained postpartum doula, and maternal-child health educator in the Chicago suburbs. She has a deep passion for supporting families through the incredible (and sometimes overwhelming!) journey into parenthood.
Megan holds a Master of Public Health (MPH), with emphasis on maternal child health, and a minor in Genetics. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and has spent the last year working with expectant and new families who are navigating financial and social stressors, to provide supportive care and connect them with resources that foster healthy outcomes.
Megan’s passion for working with families started when she volunteered in her local neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) as a baby cuddler in college. This experience provided her with knowledge of how to support and empower families when their entrance into parenthood may have looked different than they expected. She has spent her career helping parents feel confident, informed, and supported before, during, and after birth. Her background includes work in public health, infant mortality prevention, and health education, which means she brings both professional expertise and heartfelt care to every family she works with.
Megan provides in-home (or virtual) support during the “fourth trimester”—those first precious weeks after baby arrives. Whether you need help with newborn care, breastfeeding support, recovery guidance, or just someone to answer your questions and offer calm reassurance, she is there to walk beside you. As an educator, she can offer newborn education, tailored to your needs and parenting style, covering everything from feeding and sleep to soothing techniques, bonding, and development.
When she is not working, Megan enjoys spending time outdoors, whether that be going for an evening walk, spending a Saturday morning at the farmers market, or visiting a nature preserve. She also enjoys cooking for friends and family.
My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I honor all family structures, birth experiences, and parenting philosophies. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, I believe you deserve personalized care, reliable information, and a safe space to learn, ask questions, and be nurtured. In every visit, my goal is simple: to help you feel empowered, supported, and more connected as you adjust to life with your new little one.
