Melissa Medina

Melissa Medina is a professional, full-spectrum doula based in Chicago, providing grounded, affirming support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Through her work as a community doula and now as a private, community-centered doula, Melissa remains deeply committed to advocacy, equity, and accessible care-ensuring that every family, regardless of background, receives respectful, informed, and culturally responsive support.

Trained by both Ancient Song Doula Services and DONA International, Melissa brings a strong foundation in evidence-based care alongside a culturally competent, community-rooted approach. She is trained in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International and is a Certified Parent Educator, allowing her to support clients’ emotional well-being while fostering confidence, autonomy, and informed decision-making.

At the heart of Melissa’s work is the belief that everyone deserves to be heard, seen, educated, and safe. Her practice is rooted in trauma-informed care, reproductive justice, and an unwavering commitment to community.

When she’s not supporting families, Melissa is pursuing a degree in Public Health, cooking pasta from scratch, chasing after her two nephews, or expanding her scope of care through lactation consulting certification and training as a Birthing From Within Childbirth Educator.
