Bio

Melody Fevrier is a Full Spectrum Doula based in the city of Chicago. She is originally from the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia and is passionate about birth work and reproductive justice.

Through her own personal and family life experience, Melody brings a tender and grounded perspective of birth and family creation through the lens of Ayurvedic practice, energy work, ancestral work and indigenous postpartum modalities from West Africa and Central America. She strives to provide care that is rooted in compassion, honors the full experience of birth and ushering in/ letting go of life, as well as the transitions that one experiences when becoming a parent, new family or any of the in between.

Melody completed her Full Spectrum Doula training in May of 2025 with Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. Through this course she has learned how to support others through a trauma informed, inclusive and culturally sensitive lens. She has also furthered her understanding in Mexican Indigenous postpartum practices and medicines with her teacher Panquetzani (Indigemama) and chestfeeding support in African practices with her teacher Sumi (Sumi’s Touch).

Prior to her work as a doula, Melody studied to be trained as a classical violinist and music teacher. She has worked in afterschool programs and summer camps with kids ages 5-12 and currently volunteers with the Human Values Collective, an organization focused on providing meditation, values based learning, emotional intelligence and mindfulness practices to teachers, students and families.

Message to new parents

I’ve been passionate about birth work and reproductive justice for a long time and I strive to provide care that is rooted in compassion, honors the full experience of birth and ushering or letting go of human life, as well as the transitions that one experiences becoming a parent, new family or any of the in between. I aim to be curious, honest, grounded and create spaces and avenues for one to feel whole in whatever journey they are walking. I provide service in fertility, pregnancy, labor/birth, postpartum, lactation and abortion.I believe everyone deserves the care they need and that we shouldn’t do this alone. Life truly starts in the family, and I wish to be present in those moments for others.
