Monica Hoover

Monica Hoover is a RN, IBCLC in Dallas, Tx. She is a lactation consultant passionate about delivering evidence-based lactation support and serving families in the communities around Dallas. Monica has been delivering professional care to moms and babies as a registered nurse since 2003 and specifically lactation since 2017. Monica currently works as an in-patient RN, IBCLC in a local hospital, Women's department. Then separately works with families in their homes in the post-partum time, in those communities south of Dallas. 

Monica has always had a passion for newborn care and development as she started her nursing career at Children's Medical Center, now Children's Health in Dallas. Her deeper interest in lactation came after her first breastfeeding journey. Although she did not have any major barriers, she realized the complexity of breastfeeding. While being a RN working with moms and babies, she realized her ability to provide her professional experience and education to support those moms and babies in their breastfeeding journeys, while both in the hospital and throughout the journey at home.  

The families that work with Monica appreciate her calm and patient approach to difficult situations. Monica is down to earth and realistic in her goals. Monica is mom to 3 little ones of her own is very understanding of moms and their concerns, abilities and potential barriers. She appreciates "what works for your family." 

Monica enjoys travel with her husband and 3 children. She enjoys supporting her 3 littles in their extra circular activities. Her free time is filled with self-care interests and rest.

When I think about the families I work with, I hope they feel supported, educated and empowered to meet their feeding goals in ways that work for their family. I appreciate mom and baby needs, family and cultural differences, and this is a special time with your baby. I enjoy helping families meet their feeding goals.
