Neesha Hammond-Bryant is a birth doula based in Rockford, Illinois, serving families throughout the surrounding areas. Her career began as a Service Coordinator in Early Intervention, where she supported families navigating services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays. She later became a home visitor, working with families from pregnancy through age three, empowering parents to become their child’s first and most important teacher.
After experiencing the stillbirth of her own child and later supervising an agency doula and home visiting program, Neesha witnessed firsthand the disparities and hardships many minority birthing individuals face during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. These experiences deepened her passion for birth work and strengthened her commitment to supporting the entire family with compassion and advocacy.
In 2024, Neesha became a trained birth doula and began providing holistic, individualized support for birth and breastfeeding. She is trained through DONA International and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale.

She is committed to evidence-based practice and ensures families feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout their journey.
Outside of her work, Neesha enjoys traveling with family and friends, cooking, walking through the park, singing along to her favorite songs, spending time with her nieces and nephews, and caring for her cat, Shadow. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside families during one of life’s most vulnerable and transformative seasons.
I believe every parent deserves equal opportunity and access to care and support. It is so important to me to provide families with knowledge, so they may feel empowered to advocate for themselves.
