Bio

Sarah Giove is a certified birth and postpartum doula serving families in the Chicago area. After nearly a decade as a full-time nanny beginning in 2015, Sarah felt a profound calling to step more fully into birth work at the start of 2025 following a powerful dream that clarified her path. She brings a deep love of newborn care, a steady presence, and a wholehearted commitment to supporting families through one of life’s most transformative seasons.

Sarah completed a 34-hour in-person childbirth education and doula training with DONA International and went on to earn her certification through a mentorship program with Birth & Baby University. Her years as a nanny uniquely shape her approach: she understands not only labor and birth, but the tender, sleep-deprived, emotionally complex weeks that follow. Sarah is passionate about honoring a mother’s intuition, advocating for her wishes, and offering evidence-informed support that empowers families to make confident decisions. She values physiological birth while remaining open and supportive of the full range of birthing experiences.

Families describe Sarah as grounding, intuitive, and deeply attuned. She shows up with calm reassurance in labor, practical hands-on newborn support postpartum, and a genuine desire to nurture the whole family — not just the baby. Her care is rooted in respect, emotional safety, and the belief that mothers deserve to be mothered, too.

When she’s not supporting families, Sarah finds joy in meaningful conversation, a frothy matcha latte, practicing yoga, bike riding, knitting and playing guitar.

Message to new parents

Supporting families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is a privilege I don’t take lightly. I believe every parent deserves to feel informed, respected, and deeply supported as they bring a new human into the world. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to trust your instincts, ask questions, and move through this transition with confidence and peace — knowing you don’t have to do it alone.
