Bio

Sarah was thrown into birth work in 2015 when her best friend went into preterm labor while her support team was out of town. Sarah sprang into action, supported her friend, and discovered that she was meant to be a doula! She subsequently trained with ProDoula and DONA International and certified through DONA, and is now honored to accompany families through birth and early parenting, offering grounded support within a healthcare system that can sometimes feel overwhelming. After the birth of her daughter in 2021, her connection to this work deepened even further.

Clients often describe Sarah as calm, thoughtful, and deeply supportive. She combines compassion with practical knowledge, helping families understand their options, communicate clearly with their care teams, and approach birth with confidence. Sarah respects that every birth journey is different and meets each client where they are, supporting a wide range of preferences and birth experiences.

Originally trained as an artist, Sarah brings creativity and careful observation to her work as a doula. These skills help her attune to the dynamics of the birth space, support partners as well as birthing parents, and collaborate with medical providers. She lives in Hyde Park and enjoys yoga, ceramics, and taking advantage of Chicago’s vibrant music scene.
