Ta'Shawna Mosley is a Postpartum Doula based in Chicago, Illinois. Ta'Shawna brings to her work a strong passion for caring for others, supporting and educating.
Ta'Shawna has a long-standing dedication for educating mothers and children. She graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2015 with a BA and all of her coursework in Early Childhood Education. Shortly after she became an Assistant Infant and Toddler Teacher then a Lead Two Year Old Teacher of her own classroom. Today she is now an Advanced Trained Certified Full Spectrum Doula, a Home Visitor, and a mother of two.
Ta'Shawna got called into the Doula field after working with prenatal mothers while doing home visits and noticing how much more support a lot of mothers need. This reminded her of her own pregnancy/postpartum experience of not having extra support. Knowing that she can change the world by supporting mothers mentally, emotionally and physically means a lot to her.
When working with me one can expect to have someone by their side who is nurturing, empathetic, and non-judgmental, combined with skills such as newborn care, bottle feeding support, and light household assistance. My families usually loves that I am a great listener, a great educator, communicates effectively, and build trust, as well as me being organized, prompt, and confident.
I believe every parent deserves continuous emotional and physical support during a significant life event such as becoming a parent. Being a mom myself I didn't have that extra support after giving birth so being a postpartum doula and being able to help another woman feel seen, heard and cared for is incredibly heart warming to me.
Outside of work I am a mother who loves spending time with her children. I love to explore new places with them and also travel around the world. In my extra spare time I love to read, go shopping and hang with my friends.
