DETROIT, MI — 11/5/25— Partum Health, a leading provider of personalized perinatal care, is proud to announce its expansion into the Detroit metropolitan area. Beginning this month, new and expectant parents across Metro Detroit will have access to Partum Health’s suite of clinically-backed perinatal services including doula care, lactation consulting, physical therapy, and mental health support.
Michigan is Partum Health’s third state of operation, joining Illinois and Texas. Partum Health’s care model is designed to reduce birth complications, improve breastfeeding outcomes, and support mental health during the critical early postpartum period. Expanding to Metro Detroit is a major step forward in the organization’s mission to reimagine maternal and family wellness through whole-person, team-based support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
The need for proactive, comprehensive care is urgent: the 2024 March of Dimes report states that Michigan has worsened year-over-year in infant mortality rate, low-risk Cesarean rate, and access to adequate prenatal care. Specifically, Detroiters experience negative maternal health outcomes at rates that far outpace national and state averages, and Black mothers face a maternal mortality rate nearly 4x higher than their white, Hispanic or Asian counterparts.
Expanded access to comprehensive pregnancy and perinatal doula care can improve health outcomes and reduce racial disparities. Studies show that patients supported by doulas in the United States are 68% less likely to undergo Cesarean delivery, four times less likely to birth a low-weight baby, and two times less likely to experience a birthing compilation than those receiving standard prenatal care.
“Every family across the country deserves access to elevated maternal health care, regardless of where you live or who pays for your insurance. We’re excited to bring Partum Health’s support to another Midwestern state and to serve families across Southeast Michigan,” said CEO Meghan Doyle.
Partum Health offers both in-person and virtual care that emphasizes collaboration, education, and emotional well-being. Families in Detroit can now expect:
"Too often, postpartum maternal care ends at the six-week check-up, but parents’ needs start before, and continue well beyond that," said Dr. Melissa Dennis, MD, MHA, FACOG and Partum Health Chief Medical Officer. "Our integrated services ensure parents feel supported during this life-changing transition."
Patients who receive multidisciplinary care from Partum Health during pregnancy experience better outcomes, including lower rates of NICU admissions and NTSV C-sections compared to national benchmarks.
Partum Health connects new and expecting parents with local providers who believe in the power of whole-person, comprehensive support. “Having experienced the power of a supportive village during my own journey, I'm passionate about helping Partum Health create that same sense of community and empowerment for every family we serve,” Detroit-based full-spectrum doula, TaNisha Prater, said.
Partum Health is now accepting clients across Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Washtenaw counties. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, visit www.partumhealth.com or call 877-381-5221.
