Maritza Stephens

Bio

Maritza (born and raised in Honduras) is a faith-driven birth and postpartum doula and soon-to-be-certified birth educator, serving families with bilingual care rooted in tradition, resilience, and compassion. Deeply shaped by her upbringing, where women gave birth at home surrounded by midwives and the care of their village, she embraces birth as a sacred, communal passage. Her life’s calling blossomed after a traumatic teen birth. Through the healing power of witnessing and experiencing two subsequent unmedicated births in pursuing healing and reclamation, she discovered the profound power of doula and midwife support.

Maritza brings not only evidence-based knowledge but also spiritual grounding. She believes that Jesus Christ designed our bodies for birth and empowers each birthing person through it. Passionate about ensuring every parent understands their rights, she’s committed to educating families and transforming postpartum culture in the United States, where care often falls short of what mothers and families truly need. Fluent in Spanish and English, she brings cultural sensitivity, clear communication, and unwavering love to every family she supports.

When she’s not holding space for families to welcome life, Maritza is homeschooling her children, experimenting in the kitchen, baking sourdough, treats, and hearty meals or getting lost in the world of fiction. A stay-at-home mom at heart, she infuses every part of her life with passion, warmth, and intention.

Message to new parents

I believe every parent deserves to feel loved, seen, and empowered as they step into the sacred journey of birth and postpartum. My favorite part of this work is witnessing families find strength, healing, and joy even after hard beginnings. At the end of the day, my goal is that every birthing parent and their whole family experience care that restores, uplifts, and honors their story.
