Bio

Qunitina Etier is a full-spectrum doula supporting families of all backgrounds through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas. She offers personal expertise by having a child of her while also utilizing evidence-based birthing practices in her care. She has been practicing since 2022 and is certified through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. She has a background in childcare and is a Registered Behavior Therapist that has worked with children on the Autism Spectrum.

Qunitina decided to become a doula because during her pregnancy at 18 she lost her mother to cancer.  She grew up in a low income neighborhood to a single mom so she  didn't have a lot of support afterward. Once she learned about what doulas do, she wanted to be able to provide support to mothers in similar situations. She shows up for families by building a relationship with them throughout the pregnancy, not just at labor. She's very knowledgeable, patient, and confident which provides a sense of comfort to the families knowing that she is equipped for whatever labor may bring. Outside of labor work, Qunitina enjoys traveling, dancing, and singing.

Message to new parents

I believe every parent deserves to feel safe and heard by their support system, medical or personal. I see my work as a way to bring knowledge to communities that may not know that there are different options out there that may benefit them. This is personal to me because I know how it feels to feel lost and lonely during such a vulnerable time.
