Bio

Emily Krolak, LSW, is a licensed social worker and full-spectrum doula with a background in gender and sexuality studies and child and family mental health. She has always been drawn to supporting individuals and families through big transitions. Emily approaches fertility, loss, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as experiences that often shape the foundation of a family’s story—experiences that can be unpredictable and painful, yet also hold opportunities for connection, healing, empowerment, advocacy, humility, and love. Her work is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and oriented to each family’s needs and goals. She meets people where they are and believes deeply in cultivating care that honors people’s identities, stories, and choices.

Before stepping more fully into doula work, Emily spent her foundational years as a professional supporting families across a variety of settings, including prenatal home visits, a crisis nursery, youth PHP/IOP programs, and community organizations serving immigrant and refugee families. She has run prenatal support groups, cared for newborns and children during moments of stress, coordinated resources, and provided therapeutic support to children, teens, and families navigating anxiety, overwhelm, and major life changes. These experiences continue to shape the compassionate way she shows up for each individual and family she has the opportunity to work with.

As a doula, Emily’s goal is to help people feel safe, informed, empowered, and genuinely cared for throughout any reproductive experience they are navigating. She aims to hold space with intention, support clients in making choices they feel confident about, advocate when needed, and offer both emotional support and practical tools throughout their journey.

Message to new parents

My favorite part of this work is helping parents feel less alone during a time that can be both beautiful and overwhelming. I’m here to remind you that your feelings are valid, your needs matter, and you deserve support that honors who you are. At the end of the day, my goal is to help you feel held, informed, and confident in the choices that feel right for you and your family.
